(勝義根, 胜义根)

The surpassing organ, i.e. intellectual perception, behind the ordinary organs of perception, e.g. eyes, ears, etc.

勝義根者， 謂眼等六根， 有增上勝力， 能照境發識， 以成根用， 故名勝義。 如眼能見色， 耳能聞聲， 鼻能嗅香， 舌能嘗味， 身能覺觸， 意能知法。 是也。
